GEARING UP FOR THE NEDBANKNovember 5th, 2009South African fans who make the trip to Sun City this year can expect to get up close with South African TaylorMade-adidas Golf staffers Retief Goosen and Richard Sterne. As usual, TaylorMade will be manning the range and the world’s best available players will be warming up and practising with TaylorMade’s legendary TP Red and TP Black golf balls.
It will be Sterne’s first trip to “Africa’s Major”, after winning the Sunshine Tour’s Order of Merit – thanks to his victories in the Alfred Dunhill Championship and the SA Open. Goosen has won on the Sunshine Tour and the PGA Tour this year and has consistently shown the type of form that won him two US Opens. Expect him to be at the sharp end of the leaderboard, come Sunday afternoon.
Also in the field is South African Tim Clark, playing thanks to a special invitation. Clark, who has come agonisingly close to his first win on the PGA Tour in 2009, entrusts his long-game weapons to TaylorMade, using an R7 Limited driver and Burner TP fairway woods. In addition, he is clothed by adidas Golf apparel, making him very much a member of the family.
The TaylorMade Golf-sponsored range will feature limited edition No 79 balls, which signifies the year 1979, the year in which TaylorMade Golf was founded and the first ground-breaking metalwood drivers burst onto the scene. Also on the balls is the 30
th Anniversary logo – collector’s items for sure!
TaylorMade-adidas and Ashworth Golf South Africa has two sets of
double weekend tickets to watch the 2009 Nedbank Golf Challenge to give away. These winning tickets include inside-the-ropes access to the range on the final day, giving the winners the best views in the house of the players warming up. To win, click here.
