SUPERTRI AND SUPERFAST DRIVERS LAUNCH AT THUNDERCITYFebruary 25th, 2010 It is now official, the much anticipated Burner SuperFast and R9 SuperTri Drivers have officially been launched into the South African market (as of 1 March 2010). These two great products, along with the xFT Wedge and Burner SuperLaunch irons were launched to a select audience on a beautiful summer’s day at Thunder City close to Cape Town International Airport, on Thursday 18 February 2010. Jason Howarth, Brand Director, TaylorMade Golf EMEA and Pacific Regions, conducted presentations and allowed those present to ask questions on the latest TaylorMade product being launched globally. On arrival guests where treated to snacks and refreshments on the tarmac, alongside the‘TaylorMade SuperTri/ SuperFast branded Hawker Hunter Jet. Guests where then ushered down the isle of TaylorMade Golf Bags to be seated in the TaylorMade ‘classroom’, among the English Electric Lightning, BAE Buccaneer and the Hawker Hunter. Presentations began with a welcome from TaylorMade South Africa Country Manager, Shaun Hansen.
Jason Howarth’s presentation was interrupted half way through when guests where asked to look under their seats to find ‘the lucky key’ One guest was about to win a trip of a lifetime- a 1 hour flip at 1000 km/h in a Hawker Hunter jet! Top Gun style!
After the presentations all guests moved over to an erected TaylorMade product testing area where they were able to get a feel for the new product by hitting into the nets while aircraft landed and took of on the adjacent runway at Cape Town International airport.
It was one of the most successful TaylorMade launches to date.
Oh, and we think it is quite safe to say that the Burner SuperFast Driver is now the ‘fastest’ driver ever produced as it was strapped into the luggage compartment of the Hawker Hunter which travelled at speeds in excess of 1000km/hour.
TaylorMade once again raising the bar!
