TAYLORMADE WEDGES WITH xFT
February 25th, 2010

“Exchange the face for fresh grooves and maximum backspin”- yes, you heard correctly, exchange the face in your wedge!

It gives us great pleasure to introduce the new TaylorMade TP Wedge with Exchangeable Face Technology (xFT) where golfers will now be able to replace the face plate of the wedge once the grooves have worn down.

Golfers will ask the question- “When should I replace the grooves in my wedge?” The answer to this will be determined by the number of rounds played. For the recreational golfer it has been mentioned that one ‘face’ change per year will be sufficient.

As grooves in your wedges wear down the launch angle off the face will increase (higher) and the spin rate will decrease, causing inconsistent distance with much less spin. Simply by loosening the two bolts found in the back of the club with the 40 LB torque wrench which is provided and replacing the ‘old face’ with newer, fresher grooves, you have a brand new xFT Wedge in your hands.

The xFT plate comes with a fully CNC-milled clubface whereby a four step process produces a perfectly flat face and perfectly formed high-performance grooves. The club head comes in a classic tear-drop shape with nickel-chrome plating and pearl finish with the KBS High-Rev shaft, specifically designed to promote increased spin.

Two face plates will be available- the Z-Groove Face which is the stock face giving the player maximum spin, conforming for recreational players until 2024 as well as the ZTP Groove Face which is sold separately, optimized to promote maximum spin under the new USGA regulations.

Three words which best describe the new TaylorMade Wedge with xFT…‘Beautiful’, ‘Playable’, ‘Durable’…
