Loren Roberts Wins Senior Players Championship By Six

Playing in the final Champions Tour major of the year, TaylorMade Staffer Loren Roberts began his Sunday round of the Senior Players Championship with a three-shot lead over fellow staffer Fred Funk. Five birdies on the front nine and a 3-under 67 increased the lead to six and gave Roberts his third Champions Tour major title of his career.

Shooting a 67 – 66 – 67 – 67 for a total 267, Roberts was only one of two players to turn in four sub-par rounds and ended up 1st in Birdies with 19. The win is his second of the year, seventh on the Champions Tour, and moves him from third to first on the Charles Schwab Cup points list for a chance at a $1 million bonus at the end of the year. Over his career on the Champions Tour, Roberts has competed in 13 majors and has finished outside the top-10 only twice.
