Andres Romero Wins Deutsche Bank Player's Championship
Just seven days after finishing third at the Open Championship, Andres Romero captured his first European Tour win at the Deutsche Bank Player's Championship in Hamburg, Germany.
Posting a 68, 68, and a 63 that included five birdies and two eagles, Romero closed with a 2-under 70 for a 19-under total 269 and a three-shot victory. With the win, Romero moved up 13 spots to claim fifth on the European Tour Order of Merit and is now inside the world's top 30. He is the 15th first-time winner on the European Tour this season and has earned a spot in this week's WGC Bridgestone Invitational as well as in this year's final major, the PGA Championship.
